      • Most crime is larceny - keep cars clean to reduce
      • Conceal vehicle registration.  Registration cards are being stolen.  You no longer need them if pulled over, so you don't have to keep them in car.
      • Be careful about Craigslist.  Ask Craigslist sellers to meet you at a police precinct as an extra precaution.
      • Bicycles must follow same traffic laws as cars.  They cannot ride on sidewalk or run stop signs. Some neighbors have received tickets for not following bicycle traffic laws.

  • Grant Park pool closes after Labor Day.  Until then, it is free to use on weekdays between 4 pm and 8 pm.  Will be free all day on Labor Day.

Land Use and Zoning, Rick Hudson Historic, Paul Simo
  • 734 Mercer Street design/historic review
  • Update on plans for Cyclorama painting and building.  Painting will be moved to Atlanta History Center. Building will be utilized by Zoo Atlanta.
  • Motion to support the Cyclorama move & Zoo Atlanta changes in their current form.  Motion approved with a vote of 27-4-3.
    • Cyclorama move and care entrusted to Atlanta History Center.
    • Demolition of the Zoo Atlanta administration building.
    • Zoo Atlanta moving their administrative offices to the historic Cyclorama building.
    • Preservation and rehabilitation of the historic Cyclorama building using national standards.
    • The expansion of the African Savannah and subsequent park space that will be used for this.
    • The subterranean parking deck on the Boulevard side and the top level of the parking deck being green space which essentially gives back the land being taken for the expansion of the African Savannah.
    • The inclusion of some type of tavern/restaurant to be open during the day and after hours in the historic Cyclorama building.
    • The inclusion of an events facility in the historic Cyclorama building.
       
Open Floor Discussion:
  • Concern that plans for Cyclorama building will interfere with existing fire pits.  Address issue of what to do with hot coals.
  • Concern that juniper trees are being cut down on I-20.  Concern will be taken to Transportation Committee.
