Official GPNA Land Use and Zoning Process

GPNA LAND USE AND ZONING PROCESS FOR LAND USE DEVELOPMENT IN THE GRANT PARK NEIGHBORHOOD

The development under the GPNA LU&Z purview is defined as two (2) or more housing units or any Commercial properties.

The initial Contact with Developer is done by the GPNA LU&Z committee (usually the GPNA LU&Z Chair).

The Immediate Neighbors Meeting(s) are set up with the immediate neighbors. (Immediate neighbors being defined as persons that actually live within a one block radius of the proposed development.)

The results of the INMs are officially presented to GPNA LU&Z committee with recommendations and concerns of the immediate neighbors. The GPNA LU&Z makes its recommendations and an official vote is taken. The results of this vote are presented to the GPNA Steering Committe for a review, discussion, and vote. The recommendation of these votes is presented to the GPNA membership as a motion. If seconded, discussion is entertained and a formal vote by the GPNA membership is recorded.

The GPNA recommendations and official vote count is then forwarded to
NPU-W/Atlanta Urban Design Commission /Atlanta Bureau of Planning.
