  • Welcomed everyone, explained the agenda and open floor rules, and voting eligibility
  • Thank you to Zoo Atlanta for allowing the use of the building for the meeting
  • Next meeting is Tuesday, February 21, 2017 at 7:30pm
  • New member welcome and introductions
    • Grant Park Market on Memorial
    • David Dreyer: State House Representative: Campus Carry 
  • Schools Update and Check Presentation ($500 to 5 Grant Park charter/public schools
    • ANCS: Winter break is December 19-January 3rd
    • Wesley International Academy: Added playground to campus and raised over 40k so far this year
    • Maynard Jackson: Began a homeless student initiative this year
    • King Middle: Working on a partnership with Emory called "Young Kings"
  • Grant Park Parent Network Update- Holly Wilhelm
    • GPPN has five new board members
    • School forums begin January 23rd
    • GPPN Prom- planning has begun keep an eye on for details
    • GPPN Egghunt

Public Safety Committee Chair, Chris Newman
  •  Zone 6 APD update:
    • New Zone 6 Captain Lieutenant Neil Klotzer and Lt. Patterson present
    • Aware of the familiar issues with Zone 6, please email them: and
    • Lt. Patterson 3-11 evening shift will strive to lower crime rate
    • 7% decrease in crime from 2016
    • Vehicle  break-ins around the Memorial corridor still occurring and drive the crime rate, please be diligent about not leaving any items in your care
    • License plate readers will be placed around GP in undisclosed locations to deter crime

  • Neighborhood Watch Update
    • Grant Park Market: seek NPU-W approval for a restaurant and liquor permit 
    • Vote on approval of application- pass
