Golden Age Center

The Golden Age Center (GAC) is 501(c) 3 organization that began as a mission of St. Paul United Methodist Church. A welcoming community of older adults in urban Atlanta, the GAC serves primarily Grant Park and surrounding neighborhoods. Becky Wellman is the Director of the center. She and the GAC board are committed to reaching more seniors in the Grant Park and surrounding communities.

The GAC meets on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10:00 AM until 2:00 PM.
Activities include trips for shopping and entertainment, music and dance classes and seminars are provided by Fulton County on a variety of subjects including health, consumer protection and environmental assistance. A hot lunch is provided through Project Open Hand. All seniors in the local area are welcome.

The Golden Age Center members participate in the Grant Park community by; creating intergenerational projects with the children and faculty of the Grant Park Cooperative Preschool. GAC members participate in the life of St. Paul United Methodist Church by leading and performing in worship at St. Paul United Methodist Church, providing help for the 2006 Centennial Celebration and participating in the 2005 efforts to aid Hurricane Katrina evacuees.
